There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot, but there are others who, thanks to their art and intelligence, transform a yellow spot into the sun. Greetings to the Young at Art Studios' Family, It’s almost November and I feel like I am just getting into the fall routine. I am still getting used to all the new faces that have joined us recently. Winter is coming which is our busiest season. With this in mind we have compiled this package including schedules and descriptions of our programs. We still have some openings but classes are filling fast. Over the summer we’ve had some employee changes. We are sad to say that after many years of teaching at Young at Art, Kurtis Fujita, our Animation instructor, has decided to focus on his martial arts and a full-time job. I know you all will miss Kurtis, and so will we, after all I have known him since he was 9 years old. So please join me in wishing him well. On a lighter note, please join me in welcoming Shelby Farrell back to our staff. She will be teaching for us while she is working on her Masters Degree in Art Therapy. Last year we added more programs and opened the painting and advanced methods programs to all students over 10 years old (we dropped the requirement to complete the beginning drawing program.) This winter we are starting creative development classes for teens to build college portfolios and personal interest skills. I will work with each student to create and execute a personal development plan that will exercise the student’s abilities, develop their skills and mindset, and help them face the challenges of getting into the college of there choice. Look for the new classes on your schedule in January. I am very excited about helping young artists be successful at something they love. We have included a copy of our revised Registration/enrollment policy form. Please take the time to read and fill out the new form and return to your studio so, we can update our records. In regards to tuition we are going to be making two changes in January. The tuition price will average the four and five week tuition to one monthly price to simplify the tuition process and the tuition will now be due the last week of the month to reserve your space for the following month. If you have any questions please call me on Tuesday or Thursday morning in my Moorpark office at 805.529.6274.
Young at Art Studios, independently owned by professional artists since 1992, provides fine arts programs, workshops, crafts and in-school enrichment for all levels of aspiring artists-children and adults. |
