| Adult and teen programs designed for students with their personal interests and goals in mind. Together we develop and follow an individualized plan to help the student achieve artistic skills and creative thinking goals as established with Elois Brett-Kress, Owner and Professional Artist.
Elois's 15 years of teaching provides a high level of art instruction expertise to guide students whether they want to focus on a subject for fun, learn new media or put together a college entry portfolio.
To learn the fundamental techniques of drawing, i.e., shapes, perspective, line, texture and use of values.
Possible topics include:
1. Cones, cubes and spheres in charcoal (reflective light and core shadows)
2. Study of eyes, noses, mouth then put together into a face. (pencil)
3. Study proportions of the figure. (pencil or charcoal)
4. Study of hands ( see Karsh book for hands) (Pencil)
5. Shape and design colored pencils
6. Pen and ink watercolor figures
7. Charcoal or pencil portrait
8. Design album cover
9. Perspective drawing from notebook (Pencil)
10. Make or render a collage on illustration board with colored pencils, pencils
11. Still life with metal, glass and drapery (make sure the drapery has folds)
12. Scratch board landscape
13. Design your logo
14. Color: use one color and black, complements, warm cool, color and texture one picture divided into 4 sections. Illustration Board.
15. Illustrate a word or phrase without using the words in the picture.
